Michael
Richardson of LAUSD's "We Build" program expressed his appreciation
for the governor taking time to speak to
his
students. The LA caravan traveled more than 800 miles over three
days to help build the childrens' playhouse at the
capitol
which later went to a local charity. The governor was swarmed by
hopeful students as he went to check out the
playhouse project.

Ag/FFA students blanketed the capitol with literature
on CTE
while others had appointments with members and staff to talk about
the importance of career technical education.

talk with students about career tech and the
legislative process. They also had
appointments with Asm. Joe Baca, Jrs. office and Sen. Don Perata's office.
PG &
E generously gave $1,000 to both the Winters and Woodland Ag/FFA
programs in Yolo County.

Pacific
Coast Building Products sponsored the playhouse project. All three
construction programs were given checks for $1,000.

Steve Boyes and students. Culinary students also went home with a
check for $300 from teh CA Restaurant Association.
They
prepared and served lunch for all under the direction of teacher
Susie McGuire of Woodcreek High School in Roseville.
Teichert
Construction generously provided the crew and equipment to safely
remove the playhouse from the historic capitol
grounds
to its new home at the Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence
Center in Yolo County where the Executive Director of the
center,
Sarah Galetti turns little boy Sean loose to check it out.
